What services does SiteNear provide?

"SiteNear is a website that makes finding and sharing local areas of interest easier. Our website gives you the ability to search for anything ranging from restaurants and eateries to bars, retail shops and everything in between. SiteNear’s services include navigation to nearby spots of interest for pedestrians, as well as recommendations between users through our post sharing and communication platform. SiteNear also provides the opportunity for the owners of businesses to claim their site, which enables them to change and manage their content with ease."

What’s the benefit of claiming a site?

"Through claiming a site on SiteNear, you will be able to manage the content that users can see on our site. This includes your site description, featured images, opening hours, features, categories and other important business information."

How can I claim a site?

"Claiming a site on SiteNear is simple! All you need to do is click “claim” on your site’s homepage and choose whether you would like to make a: • Manual claim – Which requires you to upload certificates and any other necessary documents that prove that you own this site, or an • Automatic claim – Which requires you to be the owner of the Wi-Fi that is used at the site."

How can I make changes to my site?

"To edit your site, go to Account -> My Sites and choose the site that you want to modify. From here, click the three dots on the top right corner, , and choose Edit Site. You will then be able to edit existing categories and features or add new ones as well. You can change a whole range of information on your site page including site’s name, featured photos the site’s important contact details and much more! Note: to add more features or categories to your site, you will need to pay a maintenance fee to increase the limit."

In what ways can I manage my site?

"SiteNear gives owners of sites a great range of flexibility with managing their site. As a site owner, you can choose whether you would like to hide or publish your site, add users to the white list or blacklist of the site, edit the privacy settings for who can see the site, transfer site ownership to another user and much more. To manage your site, go to Account/View -> My Sites -> -> Manage Site or Manage Users."

How do I transfer the ownership of my site to another user?

"To transfer the ownership of your site to another user, go to Account/View -> My Sites -> Manage Site-> -> Manage Site. A transfer ownership window will appear, from which you can transfer ownership to another user using their ID and contact details. There is also an option for you to disclaim ownership of the site without transferring the ownership to another user."

What can I do if another user has claimed my site?

"In this case, you can send a request of ownership to the existing owner using the website. To request the ownership of the site, go to its page and click the menu icon. Choose the About option and the request ownership window will open, from which you can make a claim for the site. Note: This function is only provided on the website, not in the app."

How can I add many features and categories?

"To add more features or categories to your site, you will need to pay a maintenance fee in order to increase the limit. Once you have access to this premium service, you may choose to upload an excel file in order to add many features and categories to your site. To upload an excel file go to your site’s page and click Features -> Add new feature. In this new feature menu, you will find an Upload Excel File field where you can upload your features to the site."

What is a group chat and how can I create one?

"A group chat is a communication platform, which supports interactions between multiple users. Group chats are a fantastic place for users to share their experiences with places that they have visited with their friends and other SIteNear users. To create a new group press chat -> -> Create New Group and enter the usernames of the people you would like to add to the group chat. Note: The group chat feature is only supported in the app."

Can I only see sites that are near my current location?

"No, you can discover sites anywhere, anytime. To explore sites in another location, all you need to do is click on the desired location on the map feature and you will be able to see all of the sites that are located near that place."

Can I add a new site of my own on the map?

"You sure can! To add a new site, press the icon while you are looking at the map. After clicking on the icon, the “Add Site” page will appear, where you will be able to fill an information form for your site and submit it by clicking on the submit button. Note: you can only add a site that is at your current location. Adding a site does not mean you own that site. In order to own a site you have to claim it. (See FAQ 3)"

Can I edit a site that is not mine?

"No. You can only edit a site if it has not been claimed yet or if you are the owner of the site."

Can I edit a site after it has been submitted?

"To edit a site you will need to find its location on the map, click on the icon and a menu will appear. This menu will give you options where you can edit information about the site."

What is a Premium Membership and how can I get one?

"A Premium Membership is a paid SiteNear membership that gives users several exclusive advantages including: • Being able to edit more of features and categories • No advertisements on the app or website • Discounts on site management fees To upgrade to a Premium Membership: - Click account field in the right upper corner - Click on Wallet button from the menu - Choose Premium options - On the left side, you will see a Premium Membership menu, where you can select your desired membership plan."

Can I still find information about a site if I don’t know its full name ?

"You sure can! You can use the search field to lookup for sites using keywords such as the location of the site."

I found a site which is misleading/inappropriate. How can I report it?

"We want everyone’s experience at SiteNear to be a positive one. If you find a site that is misleading or inappropriate, you can file a report to the SIteNear team for review. To report a site, select the site you want to report, then click on the menu icon and select report. From there you need to write the reasons why the site is misleading/inappropriate and finalize by clicking the report button."
